The Party Isn't For Us

This has happened to us because of the triplets. It isn't intentional, but there doesn't seem to be anything we can do about it. We've been at social gatherings for other people, but all the attention is focused on the triplets. We usually feel really bad about it. We're not sure what to do about it except deciding to not go to those gatherings. Then you feel like you've done a bad thing to the person that the gathering is for. There has to be a solution. Any ideas?

Time for a babysitter!

But what if it's a family gathering and everyone is expected to attend?

It wouldn't hurt to explain to the honoree ahead of time your concerns. I would guess that most of the time they would be happy to share the attention with your 3 adorable kids! If it's a surprise party I guess that might not be the best strategy...

I would think that the honoree would understand "the triplet attention". The more everybody sees the girls/boy, the "newness" will eventually wear off. I vote, go everywhere you can, as often as you can, WITH the kidlets. I DO understand how difficult it is just to "get out" of the house with them too.

I sit here and read your problems. I get so mad. At one time my biggest problem was that they don't split up my triplets in school. Then in February 2004 two of my boy triplets were diagnosed with Autism. A year later Matthew was born, he too is Autistic.
