Little Man's room was finally finished and he moved in. We're rapidly trying to finish the beds for the girls. They are still sleeping on new mattresses on the floor. We're almost finished with the bunk beds for the girls. Their room has been painted, but not all the furniture is in place and the decorations aren't up yet. We've just started painting Little Man's room. It was sad when we were taking the cribs/toddler beds apart.the parentshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03221179474834430109noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10527388.post-50227094386557512222009-08-27T11:56:00.001-04:002009-08-27T11:57:52.323-04:00Photos AddedClick for more photosthe parentshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03221179474834430109noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10527388.post-75363675091844399412009-08-27T11:30:00.002-04:002009-08-27T11:33:23.202-04:00New Beds and RoomsWe are working on getting the kids in different rooms. Little Man will stay in the same room. Squeaky and Blondie will be moving to a new room. They'll have bunk beds that we'll initially use as separate twin beds. We couldn't think of seeing a show like this before. The characters do silly, simple songs about keeping your hands to yourself and eating different foods. Silly, simple and teaches good lessons? You can't go wrong with a show like that.the parentshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03221179474834430109noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10527388.post-14124451035697989042009-08-04T10:11:00.002-04:002009-08-04T10:17:10.641-04:00Making Up LyricsWe were playing an audiobook for the kids. It's a story for kids about a brother and sister that travel through time and visit historical events. At the end of the CD, there's a song sung by the brother and sister. The song is titled "What would I do without you?". Near the end of the song, they start singing things like "I'm the sock, you're the foot. I'm the pancake, you're the syrup". For most of that time it seems like we were going full speed. As summer approaches this year, things have taken a different turn. We're not sure why, but we seem to be able to slow down more. Not all of the time, but definitely more than we were. We've bought a smoker to use. If you're not familiar with smokers, you cook foods at a low temperature for a long time.the parentshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03221179474834430109noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10527388.post-90376312906134310752009-06-01T19:37:00.001-04:002009-06-01T19:54:40.465-04:00Our Own James Brownthe parentshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03221179474834430109noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10527388.post-2543625516391197882009-05-21T14:33:00.003-04:002009-05-21T14:36:31.741-04:00Photos added. They can weave some incredible stories.Squeaky's adventures usually involve her baby and Grandma ChiChi. They are always going somewhere and getting into different situations.Blondie usually tells about her house in the woods and the adventures there. She recently had some bears move into it, but they're gone now.Little Man usually tells about the things he does the parentshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03221179474834430109noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10527388.post-25215934575010378672009-04-30T09:49:00.002-04:002009-04-30T09:52:06.902-04:00Diaper Use - Then vs NowIt just occurred to me how many diapers we used to use. We were making our monthly trip to Sam's Club and didn't need to buy diapers. We used to buy the largest box they have every week. Now we buy the large box maybe once a month. That's because the kids are only wearing diapers/Pullups at nap time and bedtime. What a big change. the parentshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03221179474834430109noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10527388.post-87539023880006252292009-04-26T20:57:00.004-04:002009-04-27T12:09:51.753-04:00Spring PlantingThis weekend the kids helped plant our vegetables. Maybe it's safer to say Daddy planted the vegetables and the kids ran around in the yard. Should we try ago? I think we're going to have another go at it. It got to the point that adding something was more of a burden than it was fun.
